Welcome to the online community for Craigslist Foundation's Nonprofit Boot Camp, a day of knowledge, resources and networking, all focused on how to start and run a vibrant nonprofit. Here you will be able to meet fellow attendees, talk to us about presenters or topics you would like to see, ask questions, share ideas and more. After Nonprofit Boot Camp, use this community to keep in touch with people you met, and share your thoughts (and class notes and photos...) from the conference. To get started simply set up an account (using the JOIN US form to the right) then join the group. It's that simple. Get Started • Explore the subgroups, which represent the educational tracks and other components of the Nonprofit Boot Camp experience. • Read through the discussions in the Comments section. If you have a question, you can either ask it in an existing discussion or start your own Comment topic. • Find out who else shares your interests. Nonprofit Boot Camp is all about getting connected, so introduce yourself in a discussion or through a private message, make plans to say hello at Boot Camp or reconnect after Boot Camp is over.

Earlier in December, our website went down due to a server failure.
We are now back in business, thanks to the hard work by dBoost in restoring our website and Community Technology Foundation for connecting us with hosting at Joyent.

Do any of you (or the non-profit you work for) utilize measures to quantify the the social value you create with your programs? There are many options that I see are available, I am just more curious as to how many are structuring their initiatives around these measurements.

Please let me know as I am studying this and would love your input!!

We have been trying to sell our house but there is absolutely no luck. There are about 2 dozen houses for sale within my neighborhood and the forclosure listings in the local paper are 4-5 pages. We are willing to give the house away to a non profit organization and let them raffle it. I would love to hear others who share the same idea or topic and/or to start and run a non profit organization. Thanks :P

Hello! I'm Dominic Walshe, Director of Development & Marketing at Craigslist Foundation. As the title implies, I'm responsible for raising funds and marketing to support the growth of the organization. I'm the newest member of the team – this is week four – so I'm familiarizing myself with our funders and identifying potential funders. There is a good deal of work ahead and I'm looking forward to working with the Board, staff, Nonprofit Boot Camp participants, and stakeholders. Nonprofit Boot Camp at UC Berkeley on August 18 will be especially exciting, as it will be my first.
