- we love BASS!
Special Guests featuring:
DJ Zita (Golden, B.A.S.S.) Bay Area veteran lady DJ Zita brings her unforgettable mix of
versatility and femininity to the turntables every time she puts
needle to vinyl. And she does spin strictly vinyl. Since 2000, the
incomparable DJ Zita has released over 6 mix CDs and you can catch
her regularly as resident dj and host at Golden every 3rd Saturday
at the Laszlo Bar in SF's Mission District together with her Golden
Soundscapes crew partner Dmadness. She also holds down a residency
with the freshly-minted BAY AREA SISTAH SOUND (B.A.S.S.), the Bay's
Premier Lady DJ Crew, at their monthly jumpoff EVERLASTING
B.A.S.S.! every 1st Saturday starting in March at Milk SF.
Tommy Lexxus (Bassism) Tommy Lexxus, a true pioneer of the burgeoning San Francisco
dubstep scene. After 12 years of devoted junglism, dj competitions,
and successful promotion, Lexxus set off to tour Europe, performing
in 15 countries, gaining fans and friends for life. Throughout his
travels, he's shared the stage with the likes of almost every big
name in dubstep... Skream, N-Type, Loefah, Hatcha, Benga, Scuba,
Headhunter, Tes La Rok, Hijak, Ramadanman, Elemental, Boomnoise
etc...With the start of 2008, Tommy is launching Bassism Records, a
new label showcasing some of the biggest choons coming out of the
west coast and abroad. With signings such OSC, SPL, and FSTZ, this
year looks very plentiful for Mr. Lexxus.
DJ Dragonfly (Groove Garden) As a global traveler who’s hitch-hiked, bicycled and
train-hopped some six continents and 37 countries, DJ Dragonfly is
amongst Northern California’s most sought after purveyors of
cutting edge world dance music. Bay Area dance enthusiasts place
him in the top ranks of DJ polls for his unique sound: A
trans-tempo fusion of exotic idioms, rhythms, melodies and
indigenous voices with live electronic percussion layered over
dubstep, downtempo, breaks and tribal electro beats. Using bass as
the navigator Dragonfly throws a globally influenced smackdown,
setting his decks on a course that weave their way from Kingston to
Kenya and beyond. As a DJ he is most often found in the conscious
dance scene, and is a regular at events and festivals such as
Earthdance, Shambhala, SolFest, Harmony Festival,Techno Tribal,
Bioneers, Anon Salon, Groove Garden, Symbiosis, and Burning Man.
