Editors' Take

As if a live set by the Supreme Beings of Leisure weren't enough to make us wait to get into Mezzanine, Spring Sessions had to go and add some of the best DJs on the OM label, too. Good thing there'll be plenty of kids to hang with in line!

Join Om Records and Mezzanine as we celebrate an event of extra ordinary status unsual to the typical club night in San Francisco.  Featuring an all live showcase of artists pooled from around the country, highlighting the eclectic vibe and true essence of SF.

Supreme Beings of Liesure -. For Ramin Sakurai and Geri Soriano-Lightwood, the guiding forces behind the Supreme Beings of Leisure, mark a seductive and profoundly reflective return to the scene with their new album, 11i. And, yes, agrees Soriano-Lightwood, it’s been a long time coming. But it was worth the wait, in more ways than one.

Turntables on the Hudson – Wonderwheel Recordings, NYC Since 1998, Turntables on the Hudson consists primarily of DJs Nickodemus & Mariano + percussionist Nappy G. Alongside a big family of musicians and DJs, hand picked venues & dancing party people, they have brought the vibe to the Frying, and dancefloors across the U.S., Asia, Europe and Latin America. Building a loyal following one dancer at a time, they have made a commitment to moving people's bodies while at the same time, opening their minds and exposing them to artists & sounds from every part of the World.

Samantha James -  Songwriter/performer Samantha James has spent the past three years honing her estimable skills as a modern-day singer/songwriter within the dance/electronic/soul genre. Her sultry style, vocal cadences, and international rhythms are largely influenced by such artists as Sade, Basia, Amel Larrieux, Bebel Gilberto and Morcheeba.

J Boogie’s Dubtronic Science -  Taking care of business worldwide and hailing from San Francisco, CA, J–Boogie is the man to call when the party needs that special sauce. Long recognized as one of the hardest working and most soulful DJs/producers in the Bay, J–Boogie takes his musical paths to the next level with his signature blend of dub, soul, hip–hop, dancehall, funk, latin, afrobeat and house creating a spicy musical gumbo.

Black Spade - Armed with little more than his father’s extensive record collection of jazz, soul, psychedelic rock, folk, comedy and a Kurzweil 2000 keyboard - Black Spade’s music is a melting pot of sounds hailing from St. Louis by way of New York, Detroit, LA, and everywhere that hip-hop has carved a distinctive and influential sound for itself.  “To Serve With Love is that rare future-sounding, cohesive rap album that doesn't really feel like much else out there.” - PITCHFORK
