"Back in the 70's experimentation with art, music and film making reached its peak. So did the volume of women's pubic hair. Both just felt like such inspiring grounds to cover." Comments Autista's curator David Charles who created the overall concept behind this collective effort.

"Canvas, sculptures, video and interactive projections. This isn't going to simply be an art exhibit, it's going to be an extra-sensorial experience. The most anticipated show here at Oxenrose." Says Nico Lopez, Oxenrose's Curator.

Over 14 of Brasil's top emerging artists and some very special American guests will be part of the show. Featuring the work of:

+ Anna Billar: director and star of acclaimed 70's soft porn homage VIVA!.
+ Ramon Martins: considered the Punk Rock version of Gustav Klimt.
+ Carlos Dias: shows his particular and colorful universe.
+ Elisa Sassi: is highly influenced by the Asian immigrants in São Paulo.

Autista considers itself a refuge to produce work so out of touch with reality that makes you wonder if there's actually a bit of autism in all of us. A fair chunk of all earnings from the group are donated to help autistic children in Brazil.

The Collective's American Debut took place last year at Ar+Space Gallery in SF, with over 200 people at the opening night.  The show received great reviews from publications like XLR8R, Japanese trendblog Honeyee and Flavorpill. It was also considered a "Must" show by The SF Chronicle.
