On January 15th, we are proud to present our launch party for our new monthly, Bass Camp, which is shaping up to be one for the history books already. San Francisco get ready.... Every month, BASS CAMP will be featuring some of the finest and most cutting edge electronic musicians in the world. Two rooms of serious beats. To start it off we bring out the legendary gentlemen from the Turbocrunk parties in Montreal, Bass Science from Tokyo & LA, and Robot Koch all the way from Berlin on top of the stacked locals line up.

Anyone who has seen this charismatic shy guy come to life on stage will testify that he is the truth. It was just over a year ago that Lunice started bumping his own beats at the Bass Culture + Turbo Crunk nights, and in that short amount of time the music he creates has come full circle, from a burgeoning hiphop producers bedroom, to a deep current club sound, and settling somewhere right in the middle, with a twist of blips and soundclips. The cross section of people that get open to his music is astounding, his live show instantly allows people to see how much love he has for the beats he makes and his motivation for doing them. Hovatron) has graduated from learning industry 'ins' at the Ninjatune stockroom to being heralded as Montreals answer to the hipster jumpoff (or as we call it, the runoff.). Drawing deep musical influence from (and also chopping up / reworking) sideways boombap to southern drank music to dubstep and techno, his tripped out live sets and strong work ethic have made a bass heavy sound that is winning over fans and building a strong anticipation for his first record to be released..

Bass Science's debut EP Transmissions From Planet Dub fuses dubstep, IDM, glitch hop and dub into a fresh new sound that is simultaneously super filthy and extremely clean. Italian-born, Tokyo-based dub master MattB (RaNDom) and Chicago-born, LA-based audiovisual luminary Steve Nalepa conduct their sonic experiments on different continents, mutating files and sending them back and forth across the web. The resulting soundclash melds serious low end, deep pocket rhythms, crunchy distortion, glitchy mouth percussion, blips, bleeps and a heavy dose of dub delay. Call it glitchstep, call it dubhopwhatever you call their Frankenstein baby, it has escaped from the lab and is about to wreak havoc on dancefloors everywhere..

Lazer Bass? Future Blap? Aqua Crunk? While critics throw phrases around trying to figure out what the heck to call the new crunked up, synth-heavy, low-end sound boomin' out the worlds speakers, Lazer Sword are fiercely blazing a hip-hop trail through every genre from techno, grime and hyphy to IDM and psych rock. San Francisco heads Lando Kal and LL have been bouncing beats back and forth for the past couple years, honing their live set with original productions and fresh re-edits of current rap tunes. But their sample-heavy, trigger-happy sound is all their own. The world waits for their first EP to drop on B.E.A.R. recordings.
