FAKE FOUR RECORDS IS SET TO RELEASE AWOL ONE’S LATEST, OWL HOURS JULY 20 th

Owl Hours Is Produced by Canada’s Factor and Is Executive Produced By Xzibit with Guests Including Aesop Rock, Myka 9 and Tha Alkaholiks.

After the underground 2007 classic Only Death Can Kill You, emcee Awol and producer Factor are releasing their latest LP, Owl Hours. A self-professed party album, the instrumentals on Owl Hours move from electronic pop to folk hop with a number of live musicians contributing their talents. Guest vocalists on their latest effort include Aesop Rock, Myka 9, Tha Alkaholiks and executive producer Xzibit.

Topics on Owl Hours range from curious celebrations, to nostalgic odes to former loves to straight up drunken party anthems all told through the eccentric eyes of Walrus One.

Awol and Factor have been working together for some time. While touring through Canada a few years ago Awol met the Producer/DJ named Factor and began building a friendship. Awol and Factor even rocked to packed crowds of teenybopper indie rock fans when they toured with Montreal band Islands in 2008. Through the years Awol continues to gain respect from artists and fans of all genres and never fails to keep his art and music completely real and original.

Over his nearly 15 year career Awol One has built a strong grassroots fan base from touring extensively throughout the US, Canada and Europe by himself and as a member of the legendary Shape Shifters crew. He has collaborated on tracks with very high profile hip hop artists such as KRS one, Kool Keith and Atmosphere just to name a few.

AWOL ONE, born Anthony Martin in East L.A. California, was born like any other kid...in a manger.  His father, Portuguese, and his mother, Irish, grew up poor on the east coast and moved to California where they met and conceived a little walrus. The walrus grew to love music and knew that he would do it forever, now in his early 30's he feels that he has recorded his best album yet.

Factor Biography

Few producers in modern day hip hop respect the art of sampling quite like Canadian beatsmith Factor.  Whether he's reworking dusty Canadian folk tunes or hidden funk anthems, Factor thrives on creating diverse, drum heavy, and wonderfully catchy beats.  Over the last 10 years Factor has built a reputation as being one of the most prolific and consistent producers in independent hip hop.  He has laced tracks for a veritable who's- who list of West Coast underground rappers including members of  The Shapeshifters, Living Legends, Swollen Members, Freestyle Fellowship, Project Blowed and others.  In Canada Factor has helped put Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on the map by founding and running the independent label Side Road Records all while producing music for every Side Road release. While most beat makers stay put in the lab, Factor is an exception to the rule, touring relentlessly as a supporting DJ around the world with many rappers including Busdriver, Subtitle, and Josh Martinez.  Now in 2008 he is performing alongside Awol One on the road with Montreal rock band Islands.

On "Chandelier", his first solo release on Fake Four Inc., the melodic elements of Factor's production shine while perfectly complimenting vocalists such as Sadat X of Brand Nubian, Awol One, Myka9 of Freestyle Fellowship, Moka Only and others.  Unlike many producer/guest rapper projects of the past Chandelier does not come off sounding like another run of the mill hip hop compilation, instead this is a fully flowing, fleshed out album from start to finish complete with lyrical themes and musical odes to soul, folk and psychedelia.  With Chandelier, the hardest working producer in Canada has become a master of his own style and has dug himself a niche on the fringes of a hip hop world all too often cluttered with imitators and uselessness.

Ceschi (USA / Anonymous Inc. / Equinox / Fake Four)

"Words could not credit the talents of Ceschi, whether it's rapping, singing, or composing" (Erasoul.com)

Ceschi (pro-nounced Chess-Key) is one of the most unique and best live performers today. Being able to rap, sing, play the guitar, threaten the keys of his casio while simultaneously making beats with his feet on drum pads, he ignites every crowd with ease. Whether it's a big stage or a small pub, you can always count on Ceschi to go all out, resulting in an emotional and exciting, yet unconventional mixture of a classic Hip-Hop show (being backed by DJ Factor on turntables) and his accoustic performances.

Some may know Ceschi for his experimental post-psych-rock-hop-jazz-fusion outfit Anonymous Inc., a group formed by Ceschi and his brother David in 1994 that came into recognition in 2001 because of genre bending collaborations with underground hip hop rule breakers such as Circus (of Shape Shifters), Dose One and Sole (of Anticon).

Others may know Ceschi as a member of the now defunct Toca, a Los Angeles based group whose lineup included Xololanxinxo (Of Mexican Descent) and longtime Shape Shifters collaborator Tommy V - Toca was known for a standout debut appearance on 2005's "Project Blowed 10 year anniversary album" and for a critically applauded album of genre bending pop fusion featuring collaborations with some of LA's finest rappers including Aceyalone, Pigeon John, Busdriver, Ellay Khule and more.

Ceschi's  solo career was jump started by the 2004 Beyond Space Entertainment release of "Fake Flowers", an album that some consider to be a "rare accomplishment in hip hop" (ugsmag.com) and "one of the most beautiful releases of [2004]" (movemusics.com). On his 2006 release, "They Hate Francisco False", Ramos merged Beatles-esque melodies over crunk drums, heartfelt hip hop, folk ditties, unpretentious poetry and overall honesty to create what some consider to be a timeless morsel of an album. The decidedly genre-less pieces that make up "They Hate Francisco False" retain a fluidity that feels completely natural and unfeigned. Erasoul.com stated that "Francisco False" is "One of those albums you just have to hear."

His next album "Fallen Famous" (to be released on Fake Four/Equinox Records in May 2009) will contain powerful hip hop anthems such as "Count On It" and "Love Song" (feat. 2Mex and Awol One), as well as soulful folk-hop styled compositions such as "Bad Jokes" and "Bridge" where Ceschi paints a semi-fictional story of a one-man-band by the name of "Julius and The Bearded Savior" who stars in an ongoing tale of stardom, deception and failure within an unappreciative music industry.

Fresh off of nationwide US tours with Sole, Myka 9 and Awol One, running his own record label Fake Four Inc., and releasing some of his strongest music to date, in 2009 Ceschi's name will spread further than ever before.
