To say that San Francisco's theCulprits are the underground's poster children for hot international music would be an understatement. Tokyo Component, Hakobo and Eug, a.k.a. The Culprits, have been biding their time and paying their dues by bringing out acts such as Jazzanova, Gilles Peterson, Little Louie Vega, Kenny Dope and Kyoto Jazz Massive. Those in "the know" are aware that these names are nothing to scoff at. Those without soul definitely need not apply. The Culprits hit it hard on all accounts by bringing the best in multiple genres from funk, soul, jazz, hip hop, house to broken beat. With such refined tastes in music, one might think that these guys come from places like Canada, Japan or Mexico.
