Green 2.0
official website and blog:
http://www.genexe.com We live in a digital age where we are very computer focused with
technology and being connected. When it comes to being
environmentally conscious however, it is another story. The goal of
this group is to promote and educate our generation about how they
can help the environment. Through social events and mixers called
Green 2.0, we can promote ways to help our environment in our
workplace and everyday life. It is up to our generation to teach
the next generation and to show our children a model of how we
should help maintain the Earth for generations to come. Web 2.0 is
currently reinventing the Internet. We need to make an effort to
reinvent the environment in the same way using technology in any
way we can such as using social networking and the web to promote
and encourage people to be more environmentally conscious. Who
wants to join me?

Stop Out of Control Gas Prices, Increase Fuel Efficiency Standards! + -
It's not a secret. Gas prices are out of control and reached a historic high this Memorial Day weekend, the official start of summer drive season. It's time for Congress to do something meaningful to control gas prices by requiring our cars, light trucks and SUVs to go further on a gallon of gasoline. But the powerful auto industry continues to stand in the way of miles per gallon standards.
Congress hasn't increased fuel efficiency standards since 1975 and after decades of inaction, it's time to get America moving with more fuel efficient vehicles. The debate is heating up in Congress and support for increasing fuel standards has a lot of momentum. But the auto industry, big oil and their army of lobbyists have shifted into high gear to oppose new fuel efficiency standards that will save us money on gasoline.
The average household is going to shell out more than $3,200 this year on gas. An average fuel efficiency standard of 35 miles per gallon will save a typical family more than $500 annually.
Tell the auto industry to stop standing in the way of efforts to increase fuel efficiency standards that will save American families money at the pump.

Energy Tax Incentives package approved! + -
Amendment would extend or create incentives for wind power, cellulosic ethanol production, plug-in hybrids, energy efficient buildings, and coal-to-liquids facilities with carbon capture, among other provisions. The five and eight year extensions are positives for the wind and solar industries respectively.
