WONDER-Full™
Back in 1999, DJ Spinna and Bobbito were asked to spin at a party
which paid tribute to the great Stevie Wonder. The duo quickly
realized they had a mutual love for Little Stevie's music and,
judging from the atmosphere on the dance floor that night, they
knew they had a good thing going. A classic East Coast party was
born. Wonder-full falls on the weekend of Stevie's May 13 birthday
and features handpicked rare and funky covers from Spinna's and
Bobbito's vaults. Today, KeiStar Productions spearheads sole
production of the now incontestable and world renown WONDER-Full
event. And lucky for us, the time has arrived once again for our
West Coast ears to hear some songs in the key of life. enjoy this

DJ SPINNA
Arguably the world's best DJ, Spinna is one of the most in-demand
DJs in 3 different genres of music: house (as one of the top
producers on the scene, remixing for Atlantic Records, Colombia
Records, as well as independent house labels); Hip-Hop (his smash
hit "Tribute to Dilla" single with Phonte of Little Brother; member
of the Jigmastas; busy as a hip-hop producer his name is on dozens
of releases dating back to 1995); and Soul (his "Wonder of Stevie"
comp with Bobbito turned a new generation on to the music of Stevie
Wonder); his LPs on the BBE label have showcased his amazing soul
production touch -- such as his classic remix of Donnie's "Cloud 9"
-- his "Wonder-full" party attracted Stevie himself (!!), and he is
also the man who created "Soul Slam" -- the Prince vs. Michael
Jackson party to end all Prince vs. Michael Jackson parties!). No
other DJ (except for perhaps Jazzy Jeff and Kenny Dope) can claim
this "Triple Crown" rep amongst the world's DJs -- which is why
many consider Spinna to be #1. info:

BOBBITO AKA KOOL BOB LOVE
The toughest question anyone can ask Bobbito Garcia is ”What
do you do?” There might be ten answers! He is the Editor In
Chief of Bounce: From the Playground b-ball magazine, an
accomplished Vibe magazine music columnist, and the critically
acclaimed author of “Where’d You Get Those? NYC’s
Sneaker Culture 1960-1987” (Testify Books). He is a
world-class club DJ (monthly @ Apt). He is the announcer for EA
Sports’ “NBA Street” video game and for ESPN
2’s “It’s the Shoes” series. Not done yet.
He is a feature film actor (“Prison Song”,
“Summer of Sam”) and music consultant (“25th
Hour”, "Sneaker Heads"). And for fun, he dances with the
world-renowned Rock Steady Crew. Whew! But Bobbito's claim to fame
came when he met DJ Stretch Armstrong, and in ’90 the two of
them started their Hip Hop radio show at WKCR 89.9 fm. By
’98, the Source Magazine voted them the “Best Hip Hop
Radio Show of All Time”. The Stretch Armstrong/Bobbito Show
introduced the world to unsigned acts like Nas, Jay Z, Big Pun,
Wu-Tang, Mobb Deep, and many others that would go on to change the
face of Hip Hop. Although Bobbito a.k.a. DJ Cucumberslice is a
bonafide Hip Hop legend, any reader of his Vibe column would know
that his musical passion goes way beyond just Rap. As a club DJ,
crowds worldwide from Sweden to South Africa have celebrated his
unique blend of Rare Funk, Latin, Afro-Beat, Soul, Classic Rock,
House, and Ballads. He’s opened up concerts for Latin Music
legend Eddie Palmieri (5 time Grammy Award Winner), Afro-Funk
progenitor Tony Allen (formerly Fela Kuti's drummer), Jazz
trumpeter Roy Hargrove, Jazz-Funk legend Roy Ayers, and Soul singer
D'Angelo. Bobbito is a true renaissance man, a walking example of
how it is possible to love what you do and pursue it without
compromise. info:

laced the Bay Area with a unique blend of cutting edge sounds from
the underground... from Hip Hop, Soul, Funk, Disco, Nu Jazz, Broken

STEVIE WONDER
Born Steveland Morriss on May 13th, 1950 in Saginaw, Michigan. At
the age of 7, despite his blindness he learned piano, drums and
harmonica. By 1954 his family moved to Detroit, where he began
singing gospel and also became heavily influenced by Ray Charles
and Sam Cooke. In 1961, Motown records released his first single
"Fingertips" which was produced by Clarence Paul, Stevie's first
mentor at Motown & the man who gave him the "Wonder" title. He
continued to record hit after hit for Motown eventually
establishing himself as a genius producer in his own right. Stevie
